ABC Spotlight: Ms.Kathy

When Ms. Kathy Smith first started working at ABC the year was 1981. She had sent her oldest daughter to ABC and been very impressed with the care and attention she had received.She had explained that she never felt a true calling to anything else, but when she started in childcare she knew that’s where she needed to be.

Ms. Kathy has always had a heart for taking care of others and providing them with comfort. She explained that she had been taking care of her mother who had become sick for the past two years. You could tell that she provided the same care for her kids at ABC as she does for her own family.

Ms. Kathy has 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Almost all have come to ABC childcare. Ms. Kathy has been with ABC for more than forty-two years now. When asked why she has chosen to stay so long she explained that both the people and the children make it to hard to leave.

Ms. Kathy became the head of the night childcare position and became more valuable everyday at ABC. She became an incredibly established figure within ABC and continues the provide value.

She said she loves the people of ABC and that the care they provide is truly special. Although Ms. Kathy has transitioned into a bookkeeper for ABC she still feels all of the same joy of being apart of the ABC family.
